Few weeks ago Tristan was doing his tricks and one of them was lying down in stairs. When I saw him first time I was close by him so I just picked him up and that was it. Next time after 10 mins he was doing the same thing highly unsafe. I was a little far from him and my any warning to him to get up would have made him hyper , coz he was in mood to play. I just started talking about the things in Rai's room and pick up his Spider man etc. He got up and after that he hasn't even done that "trick" ever. Thank god. This not so little incident taught me a few things to handle the kids/teenagers. When we see our kids doing something that is not safe/good/appropriate, or simply just coz we don't like it. Instead of telling them not to do. Just make them busy in other things. Don't let their mind go back to things which are not good for them. Just keep on telling them - Don't do this, or this isn't good, or what you did wasn't good - will only take your kid far from you. Mentally. Physically. The closeness in your relationship can never come back.
