Being a Parent

Parenting is such a funny thing

- You gotta give 'em wings to fly but make sure they fly safe. It takes your heart out every time they are out.

- You gotta teach them to stand up for some themselves and give logic when they are standing up for almost everything in front of you.

- You gotta teach them all and here you are still learning to be a good parent.

- You gotta be the example first and then tell them what is right to do.

So many things. We can only tell them,show them what is right and then trust them.

I always thought that it gets easier when the kids are growing up. Now when kids are age 11 and 8, I feel it was very easy when they were little. Toddlers or Pre-K's. Yup!! thats all the "Awwwwwwww" times and when they start answering back, comes typical Desi mom style -"Hawwww" or as I say - "had Hai" means thats too much.

At any time I would not trade the memories and moments of my kids growing up with anything in the world. Loved each moment and phase.

When they were little it was easier to keep them safe with all the safety locks. Now, it is so hard. They go out, playdates, running, gym,judo or wrestling and you have to make sure that your kid is safe.

Its your kids who inspire you to work to make this world a better place for next generation. Its your kids who teach you to be a better person.

I would say my kids have made a better person today. I was a happy and carefree person. Then life turned cruel and so does I changed somewhere. I am glad I am a completely positive, happy and creative person.
