India, Indian Politics & Secularism
India is a great country. It has a great history. World's tallest mountain "Mount Everest" is in India. Buddhism started here. India has unity in diversity. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian live happily and peacefully here.Before you start being judgemental, let me just tell you that this is what we used to learn during school time. Rings a bell!!!!
Later you realize that the map of India in Indian books isn't right. Nepal is a separate independent nation. Mount Everest is part of that.
Bhutan is a separate nation, so is Sri Lanka. What are we taught in our text books?Another lie is about the Kashmir,most of the state is either under Pakistan possession or China.The biggest lie about India I guess is when we say - India is a secular nation. What is it when we use the world secular? Why? India has been Hindu nation for centuries. Why not accept that and say India is a Hindu nation and we respect each religion. Right now it is said to secular but no minority is safe. Even in Hindus, majority is under a quota and reservation.
Why not finish all the quota system.Everyone should be equal. Why the government is giving free stuff rather than creating opportunities for these people won't look for freebies.Neither India is secular nor socialist then why all this?India media is all about sensational news whether it is about a politicians herd which got lost or about a person sitting on a telephone pole. They won't talk about that in Amethi one party is winning for so many decades but still 80% of houses doesn't have toilets or no roads. They like to see the sister of contestant walking funny on a broken wobbly street. They can talk about how she looks funny or pretty in this outfit in such walk. But why no one is asking on national media that her grandma, dad, mother and brother are the ones contesting from here and winning, why the roads aren't built in about 50 years? If one man in India can built a road through a mountain how hard is it to build roads and toilets in Amethi?
Why isn't the Member of parliaments or MLA's ever worried about their cities or states. The schools and colleges or Industry isn't the Prime Minister's job but a stable nation is. The MLA & MP's are supposed to see what the people in their constituency need, may it be a school, college, a religious place, a stadium, a gym or a industry. How about they only come to the constituency only during the elections and try to win ppl with their attire or head gear.
Shouldn't people be more concerned about what they do in Assembly or parliament than how they look?Years ago one of Punjab's leader got elected MP, people showed faith in him. Guess what? He started another controversy that he will either go with his Kirpan or sit outside. He could have talked for the people of his state,bring their plight out but he chose to do what he did.Why the states were made on the basis of language but the same language can not be taught in the schools? Why can't Punjab be announced a Sikh state?Kashmir, Hydrabad and Lukhnow as muslim cities. But if the who nation was built over religion at one time in 1947 then why not fix this problem at that time for once and all.Why at that time all the hindu and sikhs have to leave their homes, farms and business and come to India with literally nothing coz that side was part of a new country named Pakistan.Why was the new country even needed. If the muslims were still staying in India why make another country?Why ruin thousands of families.It was the first time in the history of mankind that in the partition of a country the people were divided. Seems crazy? My family - both my mom and dad's side were living in Gujrawala and Sialkot which became a part of a new country named Pakistan. They had to travel to a new land, leaving all their belongings behind. Why? Because two men wanted to Prime Ministers of one Country and voila! they found a easy solution. Make another country.
These greedy men are now worshipped in their countries.The one who ruled India, his family thought they own the country and they literally started acting like a royalty. So much for a democracy. All the official buildings where these people lived are monuments or the surviving family still living in the official houses. So much for a Independent nation.Politicians try to win the masses with acting as one of their own by wearing same attires or going to their religious places and "worship".
Why?
If India is a secular nation, why is it needed. Shouldn't working for the people the first priority to get elected by the people again.
Lately there is a new party and they has become more "fashionable" political party. The people who are running for the office form that party are either adding their middle names "Kaur" or calling themselves by muslim names. Is this Secular India?
I would rather prefer a communal India where religion is respected not used in the elections.
