War of the Worlds
Facebook has been around for about 10 years now and most of us on that website are literally living in a virtual world. We have friends, life, routine completely according to the social network. We meet friends, first thing we do is take pictures and tag, next take pictures of food, tag our location and whole nine yards. May be some might be like me as well - using the social network as social network not life. There is a difference - same difference as eating real food and being fed via tubes in hospital beds. Those tubes will keep you laibe but you can not taste the flavour. Facebook, for me resembles that. While growing up, I used to say - "Virtually" to express "Really", with computers and social media the word has gotten whole different meaning. May be I am old school.I am glad for this social media though, I have found so many friends through this. Really amazing people. Some pain in the neck as well but no big deal. Just block them. When this Facebook started it was basically here, in North America. Soon it reached India, when I say India - I mean Punjab. Then came the era of fake id's on Facebook. Punjabis took Facebook on whole new level. They will stalk you, add you, if you delete them-stalk you again, apologize to be in the list and then being the same annoying person they were. You delete them, they start the same cycle again.Or.. a new way .. they will make a new Facebook ID and come back to stalk you. Comment on your post through fake id. Funny thing is most if these fake id people, when comment, they write mean things. Why? Because they know its a fake id and no one knows who they are. Although their style is obvious many times if its the same person coming back through different id's.Do they have so much time to waste?I don't even have enough time to handle my own ID and people can stalk and bug others through multiple id's.There aren't only fake id people. There are nice, generous, kind, honest, creative people as well. They make your day on social media better. Their comments and posts are something you can look forward to. They are like a cool breeze on a hot summer day. They are like spring shower.God bless them always. They make yours and others day better. Then there are artists and writers who would love to share their work on Facebook. Most of them face a big problem, that is plagiarism. A writer writes and posts, then comes a troll and copies it. These people share an authentic writing under their name. This kind of acts scare me. Makes me apprehensive to share my work online. Then comes next type. These people are only here to take their frustration out. Whether its their real ID or fake, all they will write is negative, bad, mean. May be life isn't kind to them. Our writings, talk and expression only depicts how we have seen life and came across life. The people we meet in our life usually show in our writings. Feminism is quite popular on Facebook and so is - Like this and see how it changes your life. Does Liking something can change your life? Yes, it can . Only if you make a choice. If you make a choice then liking or not liking doesn't matter, then working on it in real life matters. While being on Social media all day and all night, I think, people have forgotten that it is only a way to interact not whole life. It can add spice to life but it is not food itself.Your own personality defines you and who you are shows on Facebook and other social websites as well. Its better to be who you are than hide behind a fake picture. Its better to be here to interact and then go out and live your life in real world.Just liking pages to save world might not save it that much but planting a tree by you, would.Abusing the people who don't like you party won't make your political party better but working to make it better by making yourself better first, would.Being a feminist doesn't mean you can just abuse other men and act smart. First you have to be a better you and then you can label yourself with different names, parties, ideologies. Be who you are and live your life by making the world a better place for coming generations. The next generations aren't going to build a home in a website but on a real land with real family. Lets create our legacy in real world.
